Pläne der EU: Frontex soll auf 30.000 Beamte wachsen
Die EU-Kommission will Frontex ausbauen. Die Grenzschutzagentur soll sich künftig verstärkt um Abschiebungen kümmern. Die europäische Grenzschutzagentur Frontex soll einem Vorschlag der EU-Kommission zufolge künftig eine größere Rolle bei Abschiebungen spielen - auch zwischen Drittstaaten. Dazu soll ihr rund dreimal so viel Personal zur Verfügung stehen.Die ständige Reserve, die sich zum Großteil aus den abrufbaren Beamten der Mitgliedsländer zusammensetzt, soll in den kommenden Jahren von 10.000 auf insgesamt 30.000 anwachsen, wie aus einer Mitteilung hervorgeht. Eine schnelle Eingreiftruppe für Krisen wie in Ceuta ist ebenfalls vorgesehen.
Für die Reform fordert die Kommission eine Verdopplung des Budgets für Frontex von derzeit 6 Milliarden Euro auf rund 12 Milliarden Euro für den nächsten mehrjährigen EU-Haushalt.
