Februar 1945. Im Osten rückt die Rote Armee vor, Bomber fliegen vernichtende Angriffe auf Dresden. Im südbrandenburgischen Gröden wird in diesen Tagen eine 64-jährige Frau erschlagen. Die Dorfbewohner verdächtigen mehrere entflohene Häftlinge. Eine regelrechte Treibjagd wird organisiert.
