Ancaman itu disampaikan secara langsung oleh Ben Gvir saat mengunjungi Bargouthi di penjara Israel tengah, Kamis (14/8/2025).
Dikutip dari Anadolu Agency, Ben Gvir mengatakan siapa pun yang mengganggu Israel akan dilenyapkan.
Ia datang ditemani Komisaris Layanan Penjara Israel, Kobi Yacobi.
"Siapa pun yang mengganggu Bangsa Israel, siapa pun yang membunuh anak-anak dan perempuan kami — kami akan menghabisi mereka," kata Ben Gvir.
Dalam rekaman tersebut, Barghouti tampak lemah dan kesehatannya buruk.
Hal ini menguatkan spekulasi bahwa ia disiksa oleh penjaga tahanan Israel.
Barghouti dipenjara sejak tahun 2002 atas tuduhan merencanakan serangan yang menewaskan lima warga sipil Israel selama Intifada Kedua.
Ia dijatuhi vonis lima hukuman seumur hidup ditambah 40 tahun atas perkara tersebut.
Namun, Barghouti sangat populer di kalangan warga Palestina dan dianggap sebagai calon penerus Presiden Otoritas Palestina Mahmoud Abbas.
Warga Palestina telah lama mengupayakan pembebasannya, termasuk melalui kesepakatan penyanderaan, namun Yerusalem menolak.
Wakil Presiden Palestina Hussein Al Sheikh mengecam video intimidasi yang dilakukan Ben Gvir terhadap Barghouti.
Menurutnya, tindakan tersebut adalah bentuk terorisme psikologis terhadap tahanan yang dianggap melanggar konvensi internasional.
