Berlokasi strategis di pusat Kota Bogor, tempat wisata ini menyimpan warisan penting mengenai perkembangan ilmu tanah dan dunia pertanian Indonesia dari masa ke masa.
Museum Tanah dan Pertanian didirikan oleh Dr. Ir. H. Andi Amran Sulaiman, M.P sebagai Menteri Pertanian dari tahun 2014 hingga 2019 untuk mendokumentasikan, memelihara, dan memamerkan berbagai aspek yang berkaitan dengan pertanian di Indonesia.
Awalnya, museum ini dibuka pertama kali dan diresmikan pada 5 Desember 2017 sebagai Museum Tanah karena bertepatan dengan hari tanah sedunia.
Seiring waktu dan kebutuhan, museum ini berkembang menjadi Museum Tanah dan Pertanian yang diresmikan ulang pada 3 Maret 2020 oleh Menteri Pertanian Dr. H. Syahrul Yasin Limpo. SH., M.Si., MH.
