Am Morgen hat die „Fortuna B“ das Reisebett übernommen. Das Expeditionsschiff zieht jetzt den Buckelwal mit 4,3 Knoten (8 km/h) durch die Ostsee, das entspricht in etwa dem Tempo bei einem Dauerlauf. Die „Fortuna B“ ist im Gegensatz zur „Robin Hood“ hochseetauglich.
Nach Plänen einer privaten Rettungsinitiative soll der Wal in einer mehrtägigen Aktion um die Nordspitze Dänemarks herum durch das Skagerrak in die Nordsee gebracht und dann freigelassen werden.
Am Abend hatte der Schlepper „Robin Hood“ die Barge mit dem Wal am Ausgang der Kirchsee vor der Insel Poel übernommen. Anschließend fuhr er samt dem mit Wasser gefüllten Lastkahn in die Wismarbucht und weiter hinaus auf die offene Ostsee.
