Tim ekspedisi ini terdiri dari berbagai kalangan akademisi, mulai dari Guru Besar, dosen, hingga mahasiswa.
Tujuannya, menurut Viva, adalah untuk melakukan riset, penelitian, dan pemetaan ekonomi serta sosial sebelum diluncurkannya program Transmigrasi Patriot oleh pemerintah.
Hal itu disampaikan Wamen Viva saat sesi wawancara eksklusif dengan Tribunnews di Studio Tribunnews, Palmerah, Jakarta, Rabu (27/8/2025).
“Jadi bahan-bahan yang digunakan sebagai hasil dari riset dan pemetaan ekonomi serta sosial ini akan kita pergunakan untuk kebutuhan Transmigrasi Patriot tahun depan, yang melibatkan 1.500 mahasiswa S2 dan S3,” jelas Viva.
Ia menambahkan, mahasiswa tersebut akan ditempatkan di tiga kawasan utama, yaitu Rempang, Mamuju, dan Salore Merauke, sebagai bagian dari program tahun 2026.
Viva menjelaskan, program ini merupakan model baru pengembangan kawasan transmigrasi yang lebih berorientasi pada inovasi dan ilmu pengetahuan.
