Kini Pentagon mulai mengencangkan pertahanannya seusai jet tempur itu ditembak Iran secara beruntun.
Dikutip The Economic Times, Nour News yang berafiliasi dengan pemerintah Iran melaporkan pasukan udaranya berhasil menembak jet F-35 pada Senin (16/6).
Jet tempur itu ditembak jatuh di dekat Tabriz di Iran Barat.
Kondisi itu membuat Pentagon was-was lantaran jet tempur buatannya mampu dikalahkan Teheran.
Terlebih, tingkat keberhasilan misi F-35 pada tahun 2025 dikabarkan menurun mnejadi hanya 51,5 persen.
Kantor Akuntabilitas Pemerintah AS mengatakan angka itu jauh di bawah target Angkatan Udara sebesar persen.
Di satu sisi, Pasukan Pertahanan Israel (IDF) membantah klaim Iran.
Ia mengatakan pernyataan Teheran soal menembak jatuh jet tempur F-35 itu tidak benar.
IDF menyebut media Iran memberikan informasi palsu yang sama sekali tidak berdasar.
