Sáng 13/7, lãnh đạo UBND huyện Bắc Mê (Hà Giang) cho biết trên địa bàn vừa xảy ra một vụ tai nạn do sạt lở đất vùi lấp chiếc xe ô tô 16 chỗ vào khoảng 4h10 cùng ngày, tại Km11 tỉnh lộ 34 đoạn qua xã Yên Định (huyện Bắc Mê). Sự cố khiến ít nhất 7 người đã tử vong, 4 người khác bị thương.
Theo báo cáo của Sở GTVT Hà Giang, lúc 4h30 cùng ngày, tại Km10+950 đường quốc lộ 34 xảy ra sạt lở, vùi lấp toàn bộ xe khách mang biển số 29E024.xx của HTX vận tải Hồng Hạnh, chạy tuyến Hà Giang đi Bảo Lâm (Cao Bằng).
Thời điểm xảy ra tai nạn, trên xe có 16 người. Lực lượng chức năng tìm thấy 5 người tử vong và 4 người bị thương và đang tìm kiếm những nạn nhân còn lại. Lúc 9h12 cùng ngày, lãnh đạo UBND huyện Bắc Mê thông tin lực lượng chức năng đã tìm thấy thêm 2 thi thể nạn nhân, nâng tổng số người tử vong trong vụ tai nạn lên 7 người. Nhà chức trách mới xác định được danh tính 2 người, còn lại chưa được công bố. 4 nạn nhân khác cũng đã được đưa ra từ hiện trường vụ tai nạn và công tác cứu nạn vẫn đang được tiếp tục triển khai sau đó.
