Ora abbiamo finalmente la Nature Restoration Law. Se qualcuno si chiedesse che cos'è, è una legge per ristorare la natura. È stata approvata dal Consiglio dell'Unione Europea grazie a un cambio di posizione dell'Austria.
Questa legge mirerebbe a proteggere e ripristinare le aree naturali a rischio, ma ha incontrato una forte opposizione da parte degli agricoltori e dei pescatori. L'approvazione è arrivata dopo mesi di stallo e nel contesto dell'ultimo vertice dei ministri sull'ambiente, prima del passaggio della presidenza di turno dall'Ungheria, che ha votato contro insieme ad altri paesi, tra i quali la Polonia, i Paesi Bassi, la Finlandia, la Svezia e anche l'Italia. La viceministra italiana ha criticato l'accordo per i costi economici e amministrativi imposti al settore agricolo, supportata dalla Coldiretti, che ha definito questo accordo ideologico e dannoso.
