Karmelo Anthony trial: Jury selection begins after deadly Texas track meet stabbing

He’s charged for the 2025 stabbing death of Austin Metcalf at a Frisco track meet. According to our partners at FOX 4 Dallas-Fort Worth, law enforcement officials said Anthony and Metcalf got into an argument over seating in the stands, and Anthony stabbed Metcalf in the chest with a pocketknife. LiveNOW is also speaking with Alex Boyer from FOX 4 as the defense is expected to rely heavily on a self-defense argument.Reporting surrounding the case says Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in connection with Metcalf's fatal stabbing on April 2, 2025. Witnesses said that Anthony stabbed Metcalf in the chest with a knife during a seating dispute during a regional track meet.
