How to transfer your chats to a new iPhone | WhatsApp

If you're moving from an iPhone to another iPhone, you can transfer your full chat and media history using WhatsApp's Chat Transfer feature. Learn how to transfer your chat history to a new iPhone on WhatsApp. You will need your old phone and new phone to set this up.

Make sure your old and new phones are:
Close to each other
Connected to the same WiFi
Using the same phone number
Connected to a charger

Keep both phones unlocked and don’t leave WhatsApp during the transfer. Note, this process may take some time depending on the size of your chat history. Once the transfer is complete, you’ll be automatically logged out of your old phone. By the end of the process, you’ll have all your WhatsApp chats and media on your new phone.
While restoring from a backup can recover all of your chat data, the Chat Transfer feature allows you to transfer your full account information including all of your personal messages, photos, videos, documents, etc. However, you can’t transfer peer-to-peer payment messages and your call history, or media received over WhatsApp Channels.
