I Designed My Own $75K Studio. I'm Not Building It Yet. Here's Why.
I designed my own studio. The plans are finished. The engineering is done. The price? $75,000.
And I still haven't built it.
Not because the design is wrong. Because I'm not willing to compromise the standard just to build it sooner.
A cheaper HVAC system, less isolation, thinner assemblies—those would make the project cheaper, but they would also make it a different studio.
If the budget isn't right, I'd rather change the timeline than lower the standard.
That's the same rule I use when designing studios for clients.
