Jonathan Christie dan Anthony Ginting resmi dicoret dari daftar pemain Australia Open 2024. Pengumuman itu disampaikan oleh Kepala Bidang Pembinaan dan Prestasi (Kabid Binpres) PBSI, Ricky Soebagja."Kita memang sudah menjadwalkan ke Australia, beberapa pemain, khususnya pemain Olimpiade kita tarik, Jojo dan Ginting juga sektor lainnya (yang bermain Olimpiade) itu tidak jadi turun di Australia," ucap Ricky dalam sesi konferensi pers di Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Minggu (9/6/2024).
Keputusan menarik para pemain Olimpiade merupakan hasil hitung-hitungan dan evaluasi usai hasil mengecewakan Indonesia Open 2024. Sebelumnya, atlet lain juga telah ditarik, mulai dari Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, dan Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari.
