Dari hasil pemeriksaan, pelaku mengaku jengkel karena suaminya kerap bermain judi online.
Kabid Humas Polda Jatim Kombes Pol Dirmanto menjelaskan, Briptu RDW dan Briptu FN dikaruniai tiga orang anak.
Anak pertama berusia dua tahun, sementara anak kedua dan ketiga kembar berusia empat bulan.
Dirmanto menyebut, Briptu RDW justru menghabiskan gaji untuk bermain judi online di saat kebutuhan rumah tangga meningkat.
"Saudara almarhum korban sering menghabiskan uang belanja yang harusnya dipakai untuk membiayai hidup ketiga anaknya," kata Dirmanto, dikutip dari Surya.co.id, Senin (20/6/2024).
Inilah yang membuat Briptu FN kesal hingga membakar suaminya sendiri.
Peristiwa ini berlangsung di Asrama Polisi Polres Mojokerto pada Sabtu (8/6/2024) pagi.
Seusai kejadian, pelaku langsung membawa korban ke rumah sakit sambil menyesali perbuatannya.
Namun nyawa Briptu RDW tak dapat diselamatkan karena mengalami luka bakar mencapai 96 persen.
Jenazah korban kini telah dimakamkan di kampung halamannya di Jombang, Jawa Timur.
Sementara Briptu FN telah ditetapkan sebagai tersangka dan dijerat Pasal tentang KDRT.
