Die neuen US-Militärschläge gegen Iran sind auch Thema beim NATO-Gipfel in Ankara. Zu Beginn des zweiten Tages bezeichnete sie Generalsekretär Rutte als „absolut notwendig“. Zudem versuchte er, Zweifel an der Bündnistreue von US-Präsident Trump zu zerstreuen. Rutte sprach von einem „uneingeschränkten Bekenntnis“ der USA zur NATO. Die Staats- und Regierungschefs der Militärallianz sprechen am Mittwoch über die Lastenteilung zwischen den USA und den anderen Mitgliedern.
