Is Madman Trump ready to nuke Iran? The US has bombed Iran’s Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz on the eve of the US midterm elections. Iran claims it shot down 3 US drones. Meanwhile, Tucker Carlson claims Washington may be “days away” from a nuclear strike on Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain.
The US calls the Qeshm strikes “defensive”, a response to Iran firing at an American aircraft. Reports now reveal Washington has been carrying out secret, limited strikes on Iran for weeks, even as Qatar-led peace talks continue. And with Netanyahu reportedly pushing Trump for a fresh war after the midterms, the big question is: is the US preparing to break the 81-year nuclear taboo, or is Trump playing the Madman?
The “Madman Theory” goes back to US President Richard Nixon. The idea is to make your enemy believe you are unpredictable enough to do the unthinkable, even use nuclear weapons, so they give in at the negotiating table out of fear. Is Trump using the same playbook on Iran?
