Das Konzept für eine große Steuerreform nimmt Formen an: Der Spitzensteuersatz soll später greifen, der Soli könnte wegfallen und die Reichensteuer steigen. Ist das der richtige Weg? „Wir sind jetzt bei einem Spitzensteuersatz von 42 Prozent und der greift bei 70.000 Euro Jahresgehalt. Da sind die Überlegungen, dass er erst später bei 85.000 Euro greifen könnte. Die Inflation und Gehälter sind gestiegen, aber man kann sich davon nichts mehr leisten. Also das ist gut. Aber wenn man hört, dass die SPD den Spitzensteuersatz gerne von 42 auf 47 Prozent steigen lassen möchte, platzt mir die Hutschnur. Das ist an der Realität der Menschen vorbei und das ist bei der SPD noch nicht angekommen. Beim Soli gibt es Überlegungen, den endlich mal ganz abzuschaffen. Das wird auch Zeit. Denn der wurde mal 1991 für die Deutsche Einheit eingeführt", sagt Manuel Koch. Der Chefredakteur von Inside Wirtschaft weiter: „Wer mehr als 277.000 Euro verdient, zahlt aktuell den Reichensteuersatz, der bei 45 Prozent liegt. Jetzt gibt es Überlegungen diesen Satz auf 47,5 Prozent zu erhöhen, der dan eventuell auch schon bei 210.000 Euro greifen könnte. Immer nur rumdoktern ist nicht der große Wurf."
