Nach Erdbeben im Pazifik: Tsunami trifft russische Halbinsel Kamtschatka
Vor der Ostküste Russlands hat es ein sehr starkes Erdbeben gegeben. Die US-Erdbeben-Warte verzeichnete das Epizentrum im Seegebiet vor der dünn besiedelten russischen Halb-Insel Kamtschatka - unter Wasser - in einer Tiefe von etwa 19 Kilometern. Das Beben hatte eine Stärke von bis zu 8,8. Auf Kamtschatka wurden Gebäude beschädigt. Rettungskräfte sind dort im Einsatz. Laut lokalen Behörden traf eine drei bis vier Meter hohe Tsunami-Welle auf Küsten-Abschnitte der Halbinsel. Die Hafenstadt Sewero-Kurilsk wurde überflutet.
