Il 5 ottobre il premier spagnolo ha portato la Spagna al voto anticipato del 29 novembre. Per molti è la fine del suo governo, ma un dettaglio procedurale potrebbe ribaltare la narrazione.
Tutto parte il 23 settembre a Madrid, con lo sfratto di Maricarmen Abascal, 87 anni, dopo 71 anni nella stessa casa del quartiere Retiro. Il suo caso accende la protesta sulla crisi abitativa: il 3 ottobre si manifesta in più di 50 città spagnole, con 70mila persone a Madrid secondo le autorità e 500mila secondo gli organizzatori.
Il governo risponde con due decreti sulla casa: proroga degli affitti, tutela dagli sfratti per i più vulnerabili e limiti agli acquisti dei fondi di investimento. In Parlamento vengono bocciati da Vox, Partito Popolare e Junts, il partito catalano su cui Sánchez aveva più volte contato.
Poi arriva il colpo di scena. Sciolte le Camere, l'esecutivo riapprova due decreti praticamente identici, che ora deve convalidare la Diputación Permanente, l'organo di 69 parlamentari che gestisce gli affari correnti durante lo scioglimento. Qui Junts pesa meno e l'ago della bilancia diventa il Partito Nazionalista Basco.
Se i decreti passassero, Sánchez potrebbe presentarsi al voto non come il premier che ha fallito sull'emergenza abitativa, ma come quello che ha risposto alla piazza mentre PP e Vox votavano contro.
