El Gobierno federal de Brasil lanzó el 13 de agosto el Plan Brasil Soberano, un paquete de medidas para apoyar a los sectores productivos afectado por el arancel del 50 % impuesto por el gobierno de Estados Unidos. El plan de apoyo prevé 30.000 millones de reales (unos 5.562 millones de dólares) en créditos con tasas accesibles para las empresas y otras medidas de protección a exportadores y trabajadores afectados. Las medidas fueron anunciadas en el Palacio de Planalto, sede el Gobierno brasileño.
