Aid flow into Gaza still ‘not enough’, must be ‘expanded’, ‘sustained’: UNRWA official
Israeli strikes have targeted the Gaza Strip, even as Palestinians struggle to find desperately needed food.Israel has designated more than 80 percent of the Strip as a "no-go zone" because of its intense military operations.
Those attacks came even as Israel implemented what it calls a “humanitarian pause” in certain areas.
A starvation crisis is gripping Gaza, and while some aid did manage to trickle in, it's nowhere near enough.
The UN says more food is needed to prevent famine and a catastrophic health crisis.
Sam Rose is acting director of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees in Gaza (UNRWA) which Israel officially banned last year.
He says UNRWA is ready and able to deliver lifesaving aid in Gaza, but Israeli restrictions and ongoing bombardment prevent food, water, and critical healthcare from reaching those in desperate need, especially children.
