The movie begins with Sethurama Iyer meeting Isow Alex, a convicted killer awaiting execution. Alex makes a startling confession about the murders for which he was convicted, claiming that he did not commit one of them. This immediately creates a new mystery and gives Sethurama Iyer a reason to look into an old case once again.

Sethurama Iyer is known for solving cases through intelligence, observation and deduction rather than simply depending on physical action. Mammootty’s portrayal of the character has made Iyer one of the defining protagonists of the Malayalam CBI film series.

The CBI team dynamic is also an important part of the movie. Mukesh as Chacko and Jagathy Sreekumar as Vikram return alongside Mammootty, giving fans the familiar investigative combination that makes the series so entertaining.
