An seinem 80. Geburtstag verkündete US-Präsident Trump über sein soziales Netzwerk die Botschaft: Nach wochenlangen Verhandlungen hätten sich die USA und Iran auf ein Rahmenabkommen zur Beendigung des Krieges verständigt. Auch Teheran bestätigte die Einigung. Laut Vermittler Pakistan soll das Abkommen am Freitag in Genf unterzeichnet werden. Es soll einen freien Schiffsverkehr durch die blockierte Straße von Hormus vorsehen und eine Waffenruhe. Diese soll auch für den Libanon gelten. Doch Israel kündigte in einer ersten Reaktion an, man werde sich aus den besetzten Gebieten im Süden des Landes nicht zurückziehen.Cornelius Adebahr von der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik über die Frage, wie gefährdet das Rahmenabkommen durch die fragile Lage im Libanon ist.
