Pemerintah telah secara resmi mencabut empat izin usaha pertambangan yang beroperasi di wilayah Raja Ampat, Papua. Menteri Sekretaris Negara, Prasetyo Hadi, menyatakan bahwa keputusan tersebut diambil oleh Presiden Prabowo Subianto dalam rapat terbatas yang digelar pada Senin, 9 Juni 2025."Kemarin Bapak Presiden memimpin rapat terbatas salah satunya membahas tentang izin usaha pertambangan di kabupaten Raja Ampat ini," kata Prasetyo di Kompleks Istana Kepresidenan, Jakarta, Selasa (10/6/2025).
Penolakan terhadap aktivitas penambangan di Pulau Gag datang dari berbagai pihak, yang khawatir bahwa kegiatan tersebut dapat merusak lingkungan serta mengganggu keseimbangan ekosistem alami di wilayah Bumi Cenderawasih.
