Río de Janeiro ha sido nombrada Capital Mundial del Libro de la UNESCO de este año. Es la primera ciudad de habla portuguesa en recibir este honor. Para celebrarlo, la ciudad acoge una edición especial de su Feria Nacional del Libro, que se celebra cada año, alternando entre Río y São Paulo. El evento bienal de este año combina literatura, cultura y entretenimiento en un formato innovador.
