“Out of Power”: James Carville’s Blunt Warning to Democrats | Greta Wire

Democratic strategist James Carville joins Greta Van Susteren for a candid discussion about the Democratic Party’s future, the 2026 midterm elections, the failures of the Biden-Harris campaign and the potential presidential field for 2028.

Carville declares that Democrats are currently “out of power,” but predicts that polling, voter intensity and turnout could produce a major Democratic year in the midterms. He also argues that Joe Biden remained in the 2024 race “way past the expiration date” and calls Kamala Harris’ answer about what she would have done differently the “worst answer” he has ever heard.

Greta presses Carville on Democratic campaign spending, his incorrect prediction that Harris would win, AOC’s prospects and possible 2028 contenders including Mark Kelly, Andy Beshear, Josh Shapiro, J.B. Pritzker, Rahm Emanuel and Raphael Warnock.

Carville also discusses JD Vance, Brian Kemp, his beginnings in politics, his relationship with Bill Clinton and Louisiana’s unusual tradition of friendships across party lines.
