Fahrerkabine brennt lichterloh – Abschleppwagen in Mannheim zerstört

Mannheim: Am Donnerstagabend gegen 20 Uhr geriet in der Floßwörthstraße in Mannheim ein Abschleppwagen während der Fahrt in Brand.

Laut ersten Erkenntnissen entwickelte sich plötzlich starker Rauch aus dem Motorraum. Dem 57-jährigen Fahrer gelang es noch, das Fahrzeug am rechten Fahrbahnrand abzustellen und den Notruf zu wählen. Er konnte einige persönliche Gegenstände aus dem Fahrerhaus retten – kurz darauf stand dieses bereits in Vollbrand.

Beim Eintreffen der Feuerwehr und Polizei brannte das Fahrerhaus des Abschleppwagens lichterloh. Die Fahrbahn musste für die Dauer der Löscharbeiten gesperrt werden. Ein nah stehender Anhänger wurde ebenfalls leicht beschädigt.

Als Ursache wird ein technischer Defekt vermutet. Der Sachschaden liegt bei rund 80.000 Euro. Verletzt wurde niemand. Gegen 21:30 Uhr konnte die Straße wieder freigegeben werden – größere Verkehrsbehinderungen gab es keine. Receive SMS online on sms24.me
