From Mawwal to Modern Storytelling:
The Upper Egyptian Mawwal (الموال الصعيدي) and folk epics (like Bi'rat Al-Hilali) were the original forms of Egyptian storytelling. The storyteller used rhythm, poetry, and vocal emotion to pass down values, heritage, and human emotion.
Today’s Digital Storytelling is simply the modern evolution of that same art. The tools have changed—from the rebab (traditional violin) to microphones, and from papyrus to digital displays—but the core purpose remains unchanged: to connect, inspire, and move people.
