Serangan itu dilaporkan pejabat senior di Departemen Pertahanan AS terjadi pada Rabu (19/2/2025).
Pejabat tersebut menyebut bahwa Rudal SAM yang dikirim Houthi terbang di atas Laut Merah, akan tetapi tak mengenai jet tempur milik AS.
Di hari yang sama, Houthi juga menyasar rudal ke pesawat nirawak MQ-9 AS.
Sementara itu, di sisi lain Houthi memberikan tanggapan atas perbuatannya ke publik.
Kelompok Ansarallah itu menyebut bahwa serangan tersebut sebagai respons atas entitas Zinois yang melakukan perampasan.
Dengan tegas Houthi menyatakan bahwa berbagai hal akan menjadi sasaran Houthi sebagai bentuk dukungan mereka terhadap Palestina.
