(LaPresse) Un relitto di epoca romana, presumibilmente databile tra il II e il I secolo a.C., è stato individuato a circa tre miglia dalla costa di Mazara del Vallo, in Sicilia, a una profondità di 46 metri. Sul fondale sono presenti centinaia di anfore, prevalentemente del tipo Dressel 1A, due ceppi d'ancora in piombo e un'altra struttura dello stesso materiale. La scoperta è avvenuta nel corso di un sopralluogo congiunto condotto dal Nucleo Carabinieri Tutela Patrimonio Culturale (TPC) di Palermo, dalla Soprintendenza del Mare della Regione Siciliana e dal Nucleo Carabinieri Subacquei di Messina, con il supporto della Motovedetta dei Carabinieri di Trapani, a seguito della segnalazione di privati cittadini.
