Walikota Pematang Siantar Tinjau Korban Bencana
Wali Kota Pematangsiantar, Sumatera Utara, Wesly Silalahi mengunjungi korban terdampak cuaca ekstrem berupa angin puting beliung yang disertai hujan deras pada Selasa sore. Bencana ini menyebabkan puluhan pohon tumbang, merusak sejumlah rumah warga serta fasilitas umum.Didampingi Sekretaris Daerah Junaedi Sitanggang dan pimpinan organisasi perangkat daerah (OPD), Wali Kota langsung turun ke lokasi terdampak, salah satunya di Jalan Bendungan, Kelurahan Aek Nauli, Kecamatan Siantar Selatan. Di wilayah ini, tercatat sebanyak 31 warga terdampak angin puting beliung.
Pemerintah Kota Pematangsiantar menyerahkan bantuan berupa sembako dan akan merehabilitasi rumah warga yang rusak. Wali Kota Wesly Silalahi menegaskan bahwa pemerintah hadir di tengah-tengah warga dan turut merasakan kesedihan yang dialami. Ia juga meminta agar rumah yang rusak segera diperbaiki, dan bila diperlukan akan didirikan tenda darurat.
Kedatangan Wali Kota disambut dengan antusias oleh warga. Mereka merasa senang dan berterima kasih atas kehadiran serta bantuan dari pemerintah. Salah satu warga, Rita Juliana, menyampaikan harapannya agar tidak ada lagi bencana maupun cuaca ekstrem yang melanda Pematangsiantar.
Tidak ada korban jiwa dalam kejadian ini, namun tercatat adanya kerusakan pada atap rumah (ringan hingga berat), jaringan listrik, fungsi pelayanan umum, serta fasilitas sosial seperti rumah ibadah.
