有聲書評 EP05｜你已經長大，為什麼還是不敢使用自己的力量？｜《從男孩到男人》
你有能力，也知道自己可以拒絕，卻一再把話吞回去。你擔心一旦強硬，就會傷害別人，甚至變成自己最不想成為的那種人。為什麼長大了，還是不敢使用自己的力量？在顧問與教練的工作裡，我經常看到男性對力量的矛盾：有人害怕無能、不被尊重，必須透過掌控來證明自己；有人見過力量如何傷人，於是連表達立場、提出合理要求都感到不安。同樣是力量，為什麼讓人既渴望，又害怕？
這讓我想追問：如果成長過程裡，缺少成熟的男性典範，一個人要從哪裡學會使用力量？當他看過的示範只有壓迫，或者從來沒有人帶領，即使已經有了能力，也可能不知道如何運用，更不知道要往哪裡去。
這一集《有聲書評》，透過詹姆斯．霍利斯的《從男孩到男人》，探討男性如何在父親與社會的期待裡，形成對力量的理解。好的男性典範，能幫助我們看懂世界怎麼運作，也讓我們敢於展現力量，逐步找到自己想承擔的事。
如果過去缺少這樣的帶領，成年後還能怎麼學？我們會從書中的成年過渡儀式，談到尋找導師、面對失落，以及如何在真實生活裡練習做決定。值得追隨的人，應該能容許你有不同意見，支持你形成自己的判斷。
希望這一集能陪男性重新理解自己的力量，也讓女性看懂身邊的男人：他的退縮或強勢，可能藏著哪些恐懼？當我們開始理解這些經驗，就有機會學習，如何表達立場、保護自己，並為自己的選擇負責。
