Baru-baru ini Netanyahu malah membuat keputusan mengejutkan terkait nasib kabinet perang yang selama ini mengatur pertempuran.
Time of Israel melaporkan Netanyahu resmi membubarkan kabinet perang Israel pada Senin (17/6).
Netanyahu telah memberi tahu para menterinya terkait pembubaran ini.
Setelah dibubarkannya kabinet perang, Netanyahu dan menteri lain nantinya akan rapat terbatas guna membahas pertempuran di Gaza.
Hal ini menyusul anggota kabinet Benny Ganz dan Gadi Eizenkot belum lama ini mundur.
Mereka menuduh Netanyahu tak memiliki strategi yang efektif di Gaza.
Keretakan lain juga terlihat di saat militer IDF membuat keputusan tanpa sepengetahuan Netanyahu dan kabinet perang.
Militer IDF mengumumkan akan menerapkan jeda perang harian di Rafah untuk pengiriman bantuan kemanusiaan ke Gaza.
Netanyahu bahkan mengkritik rencana tersebut.
Ia menegaskan tidak ada perubahan dalam kebijakan militer dan pertempuran di Rafah terus berlanjut.
Sebelumnya pada hari Minggu (16/6/2024), Pasukan Pertahanan Israel (IDF) mengumumkan jeda pertempuran harian mulai pukul jam 8 pagi hingga jam 7 malam waktu setempat.
Jeda perang berlaku dari Penyeberangan Kerem Shalom ke Jalan Salah al-Din dan lanjut ke utara.
