Namun, Phil Foden justru menyebut pemimpin Inggris sekarang adalah Jude Bellingham meski tidak secara tertulis.
Menurutnya, playmaker Real Madrid itu telah bertransformasi secara instan menjadi seorang pemimpin.
"Jude jelas merupakan talenta yang luar biasa," kata Foden seperti dikutip BolaSport.com dari Goal Internasional.
"Dia adalah pemimpin kami sekarang."
"Saya pikir dia sudah berubah menjadi seorang pemimpin."
Lebih lanjut, bintang Manchester City itu berbicara soal kerja samanya dengan Bellingham yang masih belum cukup padu saat memetik kemenangan 1-0 atas Serbia pada matchday 1 Grup C Euro 2024.
Foden mengaku tidak khawatir karena seiring berjalannya waktu, dirinya yakin kombinasi mereka akan semakin solid.
"Saya pikir permainan link-up kami kadang-kadang kurang bagus," sambungnya.
"Tetapi, saya pikir koneksi itu akan meningkat dan bisa terus menjadi lebih baik."
"Jadi dia adalah talenta yang menarik."
"Saya juga menikmati bermain dengannya," tutur Foden menambahkan.
Timnas Inggris kini tengah bersiap menyambut laga kedua Grup C kontra Timnas Denmark.
Bentrokan tersebut akan digelar pada Kamis (20/6/2024) pukul 23.00 WIB.
Deutsche Bank Park, Frankfurt, akan menjadi venue dari pertandingan tersebut.
Jika mampu menumpas Denmark, Inggris akan menjadi tim selanjutnya setelah Timnas Jerman yang lolos ke babak 16 besar.
Kemenangan tak hanya membuat Inggris lolos tetapi juga menjadi juara grup.
Namun, perlu syarat tambahan untuk menjadi jawara grup.
Mereka mesti berharap Slovenia gagal mengalahkan Serbia di laga lainnya.
Inggris saat ini berada di puncak klasemen Grup C dengan raihan 3 poin.
Mereka unggul atas Denmark (1 poin), Slovenia (1), dan Serbia (0).
