Mamdani’s Opposition To RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat's New York Event Draws Flak | Vantage on Firstpost

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani is being called out for his recent remarks on the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat is currently in New York and is scheduled to speak at a private event on the 29th of August. Speaking to press, Mamdani said he didn't support the RSS and called it an outfit that promotes 'exclusionary' behaviour. Mamdani also added that despite being the New York Mayor, he did not have the authority to shut down a private event. Zohran Mamdani has repeatedly commented on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Kashmir and India's internal politics. He has demanded the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. However, Mamdani has only rarely called out Uganda's leader, Yoweri Museveni, who has ruled the African nation with an iron fist. As per records, Zohran Mamdani owns four acres of land in Uganda. Mamdani has also previously defended Anwar Al-Alwaki, a Yemeni-American who became an Al Qaeda leader. Mamdani has previously dodged questions about his views on disarming Hamas. So why is Mamdani's outrage being seen as 'selective'? Hem Kaur Saroya explains on Vantage on Firstpost.
