Belum diketahui pasti penyebab dan kronologi lengkapnya dari penyerangan Polres Tarakan.
Tapi diduga melibatkan oknum polisi dan oknum TNI.
dari video yang tersebar di media sosial tampak suasana di Polres Tarakan tadi malam cukup mencekam.
Ada beberapa suara yang terekam justru diduga melakukan provokasi untuk melakukan penyerangan anggota polisi.
Bahkan ada beberapa orang yang membawa senjata api.
Jika melihat video lebih detail, ada sejumlah orang, diperkirakan lebih dari 10 orang terlihat ada yang membawa kayu.
Mereka mengenakan pakaian baju kaos dan tampak ada yang menggunakan switer, berambut cepak.
Mereka yang datang dari arah sebelah kanan Polres Tarakan kemungkinan meletakkan kendaraan di depan hotel yang ada di sana.
Massa langsung masuk ke markas Polres Tarakan lalu ada juga beberapa di antara mereka melompati benda pembatas.
