Fuertes explosiones se reportaron el 25 de febrero por la noche en Damasco y sus alrededores cuando aviones de combate israelíes emprendieron una serie de ataques contra múltiples sitios en el sur de Siria, informaron medios locales y testigos. El Observatorio Sirio para los Derechos Humanos confirmó que aviones de combate israelíes atacaron sitios fronterizos entre Siria y Líbano.
