Ia menegaskan, perusahaan-perusahaan yang telah dicabut izin operasionalnya, tetap memiliki kewajiban untuk melakukan pemulihan lingkungan secara menyeluruh.
Menurut politikus Partai Golkar ini, tidak boleh ada praktik lepas tangan setelah izin pertambangan dicabut.
Ia menegaskan bahwa perusahaan tidak boleh sekadar meninggalkan lokasi tambang begitu saja tanpa melakukan rehabilitasi terhadap kerusakan yang sudah terjadi.
Sebelumnya, pemerintah memutuskan mencabut empat izin usaha pertambangan (IUP) nikel di Kabupaten Raja Ampat.
Keputusan itu disampaikan oleh Menteri Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia dalam keterangan pers di Kantor Presiden, Kompleks Istana Kepresidenan, Jakarta Pusat, Selasa (10/6/2025).
