फिर गिरा Nifty, कोई Hope बची है? SIP-IPO का गन्दा खेल, Market को कैसे ऊप?

Nifty has convincingly broken 24,000 and closed at 23,635 — its lowest level in over six weeks. Crude near $100, IT stocks selling off on rate-hike fears, and the RBI withdrawing more than ₹6 lakh crore of excess liquidity are the reasons we have been discussing for weeks.

But the last two days of selling are different. There is no panic. VIX has barely moved. Volumes are low. This is calculated selling, not fear — and there is a specific reason behind it that most people have completely missed.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 9 September, roughly 10 IPOs open for subscription on the same day, pulling close to ₹7,000 crore out of the market. Six mainboard issues open together — something that has not happened since October 1996. Institutions have to fund those subscriptions, and that money is coming out of existing portfolios right now.

Then we go deeper into the question that actually matters: why have Indian markets gone nowhere for two years despite record domestic inflows? The answer is supply. IPOs, OFS, QIPs and rights issues are all competing for the same fixed pool of money
