Торік у вересні Пьотр Лукасевич був призначений був призначений Тимчасовим повіреним у справах Польщі в Україні. Це дипломатичний представник, який очолює посольство під час відсутності посла або до призначення нового.Пьотр Лукасевич є досвідченим військовим і дипломатом. Зокрема, в 2004-2005 роках він перебував у місії в Іраку, в 2006 році був заступником військового аташе у Пакистані, а з 2007 по 2010 рік був військовим аташе Польщі, а потім і послом в Афганістані.
