At last, I've got a solo flawless master vespers completion. I wanted to do this last season, but my PC was constantly crashing due to my CPU and I'd never be able to get further than the final boss without it crashing. I tried a few times and just gave up on it, and it wasn't until the end the season that I replaced my CPU and fixed the problem. That was also why I had a lot less videos than normal overall. But now that it's back in rotation I could finally get it done, and here it is.
Compared to last season the Raneiks fight is significantly worse, but the final boss is probably easier now. Last season you could still use barricade strats, and the ranged DPS options at the time would provide similar DPS. This time around we have amplified damage resistance and bolt charge healing, so the damage phase is a little safer. I went with Commemoration for DPS, it's not the highest DPS option but it is the safest. Using a void weapon with the Volatile Marksman boost still works, and the extra regen from the origin perk helps get abilities back a little quicker. This is probably still viable for a 4 phase, I just took the later phases safer. I tried Le Monaque only but it seemed to perform worse, but maybe it'd be fine.
Raneiks is an absolute boring nightmare now, and 5 phase was the best I could get. A star eaters glacial quake is wildly inconsistent on that boss, and I don't know if I'm imagining it but it feels like every second damage phase did a lot more damage than the first. Probably just RNG as is usual with stasis damage, but either way it's an awful fight with the changes. I would've liked to stick with arc the whole dungeon, but the damage is terrible on that fight so glacial quake was the way to go. I also don't know if you're able to skip the first encounter anymore, which would've been nice to speed it up, but I know people would complain so I didn't bother checking.
Difficulty-wise, I'd say it's probably on par with Ghosts of the Deep now, or slightly easier. Both are manageable with this setup, but this dungeon feels a lot more tedious to run. Anyway, all that's left now is Grasp (which I've got ready to post tomorrow), then Duality and Spire of the Watcher. Have to wait for those to rotate around, and in the meantime I have the 3 "master" runs of the old dungeons ready to post too. I'll see where I can schedule those in.
---
As mentioned on my previous master videos, I'll be revisiting all of the master dungeons this season. For the 3 that don't have a master variant, I'm lowering my power level simulate the master experience (similar to how I did "Grandmaster" Lost Sectors in the past). I'm planning to do them all on this similar setup for consistency-sake, as there's very little loadout swaps needed and I can foresee it being viable for every dungeon there is. There's more optimal setups, faster ways to do these, and you can do more swaps to make things much more efficient. But I've grown a little tired of needing to create individual loadouts for everything again, so it'll be easiest to have them all with a similar setup with minimal swaps needed. I do think loadouts are both a great and essential function that's needed in the game, I've just always found it very tedious having to setup loadouts in the first place, but even more so constantly needing to play the menu game in the middle of combat. I don't think it needs to be changed, nor am I advocating for that. It's just a part of the game I don't really find fun personally.
