PLO | Vụ ông Trump bị ám sát hụt: Mật vụ Mỹ đã bị xạ thủ 20 tuổi qua mặt ra sao?Vụ ám sát hụt cựu Tổng thống Mỹ Donald Trump trong khi vận động tranh cử tại Butler, Pennsylvania, ngày 13/7 đã làm dấy lên nhiều câu hỏi về an ninh. Steve Nottingham, cựu chỉ huy lực lượng đặc nhiệm SWAT, cho rằng vụ việc này là một thất bại an ninh lớn. Đây được coi là cuộc khủng hoảng an ninh lớn nhất đối với Cơ quan Mật vụ Mỹ kể từ khi Tổng thống Ronald Reagan bị bắn năm 1981.
Cơ quan Mật vụ Mỹ đang điều tra cách thức nghi phạm mang súng trường AR tiếp cận và bắn vào ông Trump. Tay súng đã bắn từ một vị trí cao bên ngoài địa điểm vận động và bị mật vụ bắn hạ. FBI xác định nghi phạm là Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20 tuổi, ở Pennsylvania.
Các chuyên gia an ninh nhận định khó có thể loại bỏ mọi mối đe dọa, đặc biệt từ vũ khí tầm xa trong các sự kiện ngoài trời. Jim Cavanaugh, cựu đặc vụ Cục Rượu, Thuốc lá, Súng và Chất nổ, ngạc nhiên khi tay súng có thể lên được một vị trí cao trong tầm bắn. Cựu mật vụ Greg Gitschier khen ngợi tốc độ phản ứng của các đặc vụ bảo vệ ông Trump, trong khi cựu nhân viên Mật vụ Evy Poumpouras cho rằng không thể loại bỏ hết mọi mối đe dọa tiềm ẩn.
Đại diện cảnh sát Pennsylvania, George Bivens, thừa nhận khó đảm bảo an ninh tuyệt đối tại các sự kiện công cộng và cho rằng cuộc điều tra sẽ giúp cải thiện biện pháp an ninh trong tương lai.
