Ia berdalih bahwa AS merupakan penyelamat bagi Israel dan kini saatnya untuk membuktikan.
Lewat unggahan di Truth Social miliknya pada Kamis (25/6/2025), Trump mengaku tak habis pikir dengan pengadilan Israel yang kembali memanggil Netanyahu.
Ia menilai tuduhan korupsi yang dialamatkan pada rekannya tersebut bermotif politik dan tidak adil.
"Saya terkejut mendengar bahwa negara Israel, yang baru saja mengalami salah satu momen terhebat dalam sejarahnya... terus melanjutkan perburuan penyihir yang konyol terhadap Perdana Menteri mereka di masa perang besar!" tulis Trump, dikutip dari The Times of Israel, Kamis (26/6/2025).
Trump memanggil Netanyahu dengan sebutan Bibi dan menganggapnya sebagai seorang pahlawan.
Komentar ini merujuk pada tekad Netanyahu melawan ancaman musuh, termasuk Iran.
Trump mengklaim bahwa kekuatan AS dan Israel telah berhasil menghancurkan program nuklir musuh.
"Tidak ada seorang pun dalam sejarah Israel yang berjuang lebih keras atau lebih kompeten daripada Bibi Netanyahu," imbuhnya.
Dengan penuh ketegasan, ia meminta agar sidang korupsi Netanyahu dibatalkan dan pemimpin Israel diberi pengampunan.
"Persidangan Bibi Netanyahu harus dibatalkan segera atau pengampunan diberikan kepada pahlawan besar, yang telah melakukan begitu banyak hal bagi negara," lanjut Trump.
Sebagai informasi, Netanyahu diadili dalam tiga kasus korupsi.
Ia menghadapi dakwaan penipuan dan pelanggaran kepercayaan dalam Kasus 1000 dan Kasus 2000, dakwaan penyuapan, serta penipuan dan pelanggaran kepercayaan dalam Kasus 4000.
