Veronica Tan sudah terlibat aktif dalam berbagai organisasi masyarakat sejak saat mendampingi Ahok dan menjadi Bupati Belitung, Wakil Gubernur, dan kemudian Gubernur DKI Jakarta. Ia pernah menjadi Ketua Tim Penggerak PKK DKI Jakarta dan juga menjadi Ketua Yayasan Kanker Indonesia DKI Jakarta. Sejak dulu Veronica memang aktif dalam usaha-usaha pemberdayaan anak dan perempuan.Veronica Tan menceritakan bagaimana proses dirinya bisa menjadi Wakil Menteri Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak pada Kabinet Merah Putih. Ia juga menjabarkan seperti apa tugas dan tantangan yang dihadapinya selama menjadi Wakil menteri PPPA, keinginannya untuk mentransformasi peran perempuan Indonesia, dari yang selama ini menjadi objek, berubah menjadi subjek, dn konsepnya untuk menjadikan perempuan sebagai kekuatan ekonomi baru, di bidang perawatan.
