NEPAL, KOMPAS.TV - Para pengunjuk rasa di Nepal membakar gedung-gedung pemerintah dan kediaman para pemimpin politik terkemuka pada hari Selasa (9/9/2025).

Tampak gambar udara pusat pemerintahan Nepal terbakar sementara kerumunan menari dan bernyanyi di jalanan di sekitar kompleks tersebut.

Dilansir AP, Puluhan ribu pengunjuk rasa tetap berada di jalanan hingga sore hari, memblokir jalan, menyerbu dan membakar gedung-gedung pemerintah, dan, dalam beberapa kasus, menyerang para pemimpin politik.

Sehari sebelumnya, sejumlah massa yang dipimpin oleh anak muda melakukan aksi demo atas pemblokiran beberapa situs media sosial. Polisi juga melepaskan tembakan ke arah kerumunan, menewaskan 19 orang.

Larangan tersebut dicabut pada hari Selasa (9/9/2025), tetapi protes terus berlanjut, dipicu oleh kemarahan atas kematian tersebut dan meningkatnya dugaan korupsi di pemerintahan tersebut.

Seiring meningkatnya protes, Presiden Nepal Ram Chandra dan Perdana Menteri Khadga Prasad Oli mengumumkan pengunduran dirinya.
