¿Por qué Suiza es tan rica? La historia de un milagro
Si te pregunto por qué Suiza es tan rica, seguramente aparecerán enseguida algunos de los sospechosos habituales: que si los bancos, que si los relojes de lujo, que si los impuestos bajos... Bien. Estos factores, por supuesto, son factores a analizar, pero ninguno explica por sí solo el milagro suizo. De hecho, si uno mira el mapa, Suiza no parece precisamente el país al que la geografía hubiera destinado a convertirse en uno de los más ricos del mundo. Y es que Suiza no tiene mar, no tiene petróleo. Tampoco tiene grandes yacimientos minerales y buena parte de su territorio son montañas. Y, sin embargo, este país alpino hoy tiene uno de los PIB por habitante más altos del planeta. Vale, ¿y ahora me explicas cómo demonios han obrado el milagro estos tipos? Pues, entre otras cosas, porque durante siglos los suizos tuvieron que aprender a ganar dinero con lo que tenían. Y en no pocas ocasiones, también con lo que no tenían. El gran Fernand Braudel insistía en que la geografía condiciona la historia. Pero ojo, condicionarla no significa dictarla. Y Suiza es un magnífico ejemplo.Guion de Javier Rubio Donzé
