Con un investimento di 37 milioni di euro profuso da Rti e Trenitalia ha riaperto la storica ferrovia faentina che collega Firenze con la cittadina romagnola del Ravennate. Al viaggio inaugurale hanno partecipato i presidenti delle Regioni Toscana ed Emilia-Romagna, Eugenio Giani e Michele de Pascale. La storica linea era stata inaugurata per la prima volta alla fine dell'Ottocento e serve circa 1 milione di passeggeri l'anno. A usufruirne i servizi una clientela «ibrida» composta da turisti, pendolari, studenti. Per due anni e mezzo la circolazione aveva subito continue interruzioni lungo tutto il tracciato con i due capolinea che non erano più collegati dai convogli. In un primo momento erano state le alluvioni e le frane del 2023 a compromettere il servizio, in ultimo un'ondata di maltempo avvenuta all'inizio dello scorso anno. I due presidenti Giani e De Pascale hanno annunciato oggi che dal prossimo anno la linea collegherà con un unico convoglio Firenze e Ravenna sull'esperienza dello storico «treno di Dante».
