Los Conservadores, que buscan volver al poder, y los Aliados, un partido que comenzó en unas primarias que van de mal en peor. Clarence, el candidato titular de los Aliados, es eliminado de la contienda presidencial mediante una maniobra de desprestigio, y Paul Corteira, uno de sus fundadores, lo reemplaza para reunirse con Andrés Mallamand, el candidato del Partido Nacional.
Este es el panorama político donde Bruno Muller, un documentalista abrumado por su exesposa y su pensión alimenticia, junto con un ultimátum de su editor para encontrar un tema que le genere altos índices de audiencia, se topa por casualidad con un candidato político que se convertirá en la historia que necesita. Se reunirá con un asesor político del excandidato Clarence, y juntos indagarán en las acciones de los partidos para descubrir algo que los candidatos quieren silenciar a toda costa.
