For what will likely be my last Mortal Shell 2 video until new updates or a DLC happens, I wanted to recreate what I did with the first Mortal Shell game -beating Mortal Shell without a shell: https://youtu.be/AjDfpjUTh3M
That was actually the first ever no damage compilation video I posted on the channel, so I have fond memories with this franchise. In the original game if you didn't have a shell you'd be one hit by absolutely everything, so no damage was essential there. With the changes made in Mortal Shell 2 you can take a few hits, but I still wanted to no damage all of the bosses at the same time.
I decided to do this on normal mode instead of night mode, as I wasn't particularly interested in another 10 minute Magdalena fight to start, and ending with what would probably be 20 minutes or longer Zmey. Additionally, I left it as only the main area bosses rather than all of 46 bosses in total, as a lot of them would be uninteresting to include.
For the most part I'm happy with each of the fights, as I got to show how to handle all of the movesets without relying on any shell abilities or buffs. There are a couple of attacks that were either wildly inconsistent or impossible to avoid, so I used iframing with the Shrike Stone to get around them. These were Droeg's projectiles in phase 2, The Monolith ground rolling attack, and Zmey's flame breaths depending on your distance. There is also the Zmey waves attack that I used Shrike Stone for, but that was to speed up the fight more than anything. Otherwise each of them have awkward, inconsistent or often impossible aspects to them, so I just went with a consistent approach.
Lastly, the weapon and tarstones were pretty much always the same throughout the video. While I would've liked to showcase a bit more variety, I didn't want to have to farm up a bunch of different tarstones or weapon upgrades for hours, so I stuck with what was familiar so I could just focus on the bosses.
Either way, I'm happy to have this done. It was a fun extra challenge on top of the previous videos, a throwback to the original game and first no damage video I created on the channel, and a nice way to send off the game for me.
