Perayaan berdarah itu terjadi di sepanjang tepi laut Nice, Prancis.
Insiden itu bermula ketika kembang api diluncurkan ke langit di depan 30.000 penonton.
Tak lama setelah acara selesai, pelaku teror bernama Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel (31) mulai menjalankan rencananya.
Aksi yang dipersiapkan Mohamed selama satu tahun.
Mohamed menggunakan truk yang telah disiapkan untuk melancarkan aksinya.
Ia sengaja menyusuri jalan secara zig zag melewati kerumunan dengan kecepatan 60 mil per jam.
Sementara itu, kerumunan saling menyelamatkan diri ke hotel dan pantai.
Kemudian, seorang pria bernama Alexandre Migues melakukan aksi heroik dengan motornya.
Dengan sepeda motornya, ia berupaya memperlambat jalan truk dengan mendekati sisi truk ukuran 19 ton itu.
Saat diwawancarai, ia mengatakan bahwa aksi heroiknya bagian dari naluriah, ketika melihat nyawa orang lain sedang terancam.
Pasalnya, pelaku membawa senjata pistol otomatis, dan beberapa replika senjata serbu, serta granat yang dilucuti.
Dari senjata itu mampu menghentikan aksi Migues ketika ditodongkan senjata ke arahnya.
Dalam laporan dari 86 korban jiwa tewas, 10 diantaranya anak-anak, dan 400 korban lainnya terluka.
Setelah tragedi itu, Perdana Menteri Prancis, Manuel Valls mengumumkan tiga hari berkabung dengan membatalkan semua perayaan.
